Crafting EU Leadership, Enabling European Citizens and SMEs“.

Sono membri di PrometheEUs: I-Com, Istituto per la Competitività; EsadeGeo – Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics (Spagna), IOBE – Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (Grecia) e Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos (Portogallo).

I-Com will reschedule the event at a later date as soon as the emergency situation is overcome.

On February 19, the European Commission unveiled its ideas and actions for “a digital transformation that works for all” – a strategy built on Europe’s long history of technology and innovation, and on its strong protection of rights and fundamental values. As part of this digital strategy, the Commission released a White Paper “On Artificial Intelligence – A European approach to excellence and trust”, which outlines policy options to enable a trustworthy and secure development of AI, while finally aiming at making Europe a world leader in this technology.

I-Com, the Institute for Competitiveness is organising the event “THE EUROPEAN WAY TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. Crafting EU Leadership, Enabling European Citizens and SMEs” which will be held at the European Parliament in Brussels on the 18th of March 2020 (11.00 – 12:30).

The event – hosted by MEP Brando Benifei – will provide a forum for high-level representatives from EU and national institutions, research and business organisations, trade and consumer associations and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the new European approach to Artificial Intelligence, as provided by the White Paper on Artificial Intelligence.

PromethEUs – The event will be the occasion to launch in Brussels PromethEUs, an independent network of four Southern-European think tanks, whose mission is to constructively contribute to the current European policy debate on the digital revolution by providing a perspective from Southern Europe. PromethEUs brings together I-Com, Institute for Competitiveness (Italy), EsadeGeo – Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics (Spain), IOBE – Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (Greece) and Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos (Portugal).

A study on Artificial Intelligence – developed by I-Com, in collaboration with the other PromthEUs members – will be presented during the event.[/tp]
