[tp no_translate]Anna Herold is Head of the ‘Audiovisual & Media Services Policy’ unit at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT). She has previously served as a Member of Cabinet of Günther H. Oettinger, then European Commissioner responsible for Digital Economy and Society. Prior to that, she was Assistant to the Deputy Director-General of DG CONNECT, Roberto Viola, and before that she was in charge of electronic communications policy design in the Unit of this DG responsible for Regulatory Coordination & Business, where she led a policy outreach team on the Telecoms Single Market initiative. She has worked for the European Commission since 2003, previously dealing with media and audiovisual policy, as well as competition policy.[/tp]

He obtained a degree in Management at the Universität Bielefeld in Germany; a Master in Applied Mathematical Sciences at the University of Georgia, Athens, USA; and a PhD degree in Economics at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. His research and publication area is Industrial Organization and Game Theory, with particular emphasis on telecommunications economics. He has published in the RAND Journal of Economics, Economic Theory, Journal of Industrial Economics and the International Journal of Industrial Organization. He is co-editor of the Portuguese Economic Journal, and associate editor of Information Economics& Policy and Review of Economics. He is regular consultant for regulators, international companies and the European Commission on matters including the EU Framework for Telecommunications and issues in network competition and regulation.[/tp]

[tp no_translate]Aggelos Tsakanikas is an Associate Professor in the field of Economic Evaluation of Systems of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Director at the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics (LIEE), National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is also heading the Entrepreneurship Observatory, at the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (FEIR/IOBE), the leading private think tank for economic research in Greece. He teaches Economics, Investment Decision and Business Administration, Statistics for Engineers, Technology – Innovation – Entrepreneurship at the Chemical Engineering department and Industrial Policies and International Competitiveness (Athens MBA course). In the context of his research activity has been involved with numerous sectoral studies, studies on entrepreneurship and competitiveness, studies on ICTs adoption and diffusion, and economic performance at the macro, meso (sectoral) and micro level of analysis.[/tp]

[tp no_translate]Stefano is the president and principal policy analyst at I-Com, the Institute for Competitiveness, a think tank based in Rome and Brussels which he founded in 2005. He currently teaches political economy and economic policy at the Roma Tre University, in Rome. Stefano is a graduate of the Coripe Consortium for Research and Continuing Education in Economics (Piemonte, Italy), where he received a master’s degree in economics and George Mason University (Virginia, USA) where he obtained his MA (Economics). Stefano has served in key advisory or expert positions on a number of task forces or scientific boards, including: Vice President of the Health City Institute; Scientific Director of the La Scossa Association; Board member of the European Foundation EYPROM; Expert Member of the Eurelectric Task Force on Investment; Expert Member of the Technical Secretariat for the Protection of Nature in the Italian Ministry of the Environment; Director at the Observatory on Energy Policy of the Einaudi Foundation. He has authored numerous publications on economic themes, particularly with regard to policy and regulation of the energy market and infrastructural services and the governance of the institutions, and his opinions and analysis has featured in major Italian newspapers.

[tp no_translate]Raquel Jorge-Ricart is a Policy Analyst on Technology, Digital and Cyber Policy at Elcano Royal Institute think tank. She is a former Fulbright Fellow in Washington, DC (Elliott School of International Affairs, GWU), where she specialized in technology and digital policy, and its implications on strategic risk management as well as security and foreign policy. Raquel has worked on policymaking projects at the Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, and at the GWU’s Institute for Science and Technology Policy, on cybersecurity and 5G issues related to trade and industry, cities, defence and security, and fundamental rights. Raquel is a member of the Spanish Observatory on the Social and Ethical Impact of Artificial Intelligence, and she collaborates with the think tank Elcano Royal Institute. Raquel earned a master’s degree in International Relations and African Studies from the University of Madrid, and a double bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Valencia (Spain) and Université Paris-X (France).[/tp]

[tp no_translate]Ms Filippa Arvas Olsson, senior adviser at the Swedish Ministry of Culture, started in the Division for Media in 2003. Her focus has been on national and international media policy work promoting freedom of speech and media independence. She has for many years been involved in the technical regulation of broadcasting in Sweden, such as conditions for distribution, spectrum allocation as well as content and advertising regulation. Her international experience includes responsibility for negotiations at EU-level and as member of the Steering Group for Media and Information Services within the Council of Europe. Ms Arvas Olsson has lately worked actively on the national and international level with issues directly linked to the challenges of the new media landscape and the relations between content-producing editorial media and global internet platforms.[/tp]

[tp no_translate]Erard heads ACT’s media and data taskforce. He has several years of experience working in digital and media policy in Brussels. He joined ACT from the European broadcaster RTL Group. Previously, he worked at the World Federation of Advertisers and the consultancy Brunswick. Erard has a masters degree from Sciences Po, France, and a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, USA. Erard speaks French, English and German.[/tp]

He is a Research Associate at the “Programa de Derecho y Bienes Publicos” at Flacso University of Buenos Aires. He is also the Coordinator of the Editorial Board of the Journal “Diritto Mercato Tecnologia” (Law Market Technology).
