European Parliament - Room SPINELLI 5G1
The Institute for Competitiveness (I-Com), on behalf of PromethEUs, has organised the public conference entitled “EMFA. Securing an independent and transparent media sector across Europe”. The event delved into different aspects surrounding the European Media Freedom Act proposal, which was presented by the Commission on September 16 and is the most recent step to be taken to safeguard media freedom and plurality in the EU.
Specifically, through a policy analysis perspective, during the event, the network touched upon the economic impact of the media industry, the recent trends in media freedom and pluralism, the geopolitics of technology and its nexus with media freedom and pluralism, and media regulation in Europe.
Hosted by MEP Sandro Gozi (Renew), the event has taken place on Wednesday 30 November, from 18:30 to 20:00 CET, at the European Parliament (Room SPINELLI 5G1).
