DIGITAL

Monday, November 18: The European Parliament’s Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) will host an exchange of views with the European Commission on the adequacy of EU legislation on consumer protection concerning digital fairness.

Wednesday, November 20, and Thursday, November 21: In Budapest, as part of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council, DG CONNECT, in collaboration with the Hungarian Digital Agency, will host a meeting of the Digital Decade Board. The focus will be on discussing the next steps of the Digital Decade Policy Programme (DDPP), with presentations covering topics such as digital skills development, competitiveness, and human-centered digitalization.

Wednesday, November 20, and Thursday, November 21: The Space Days will take place in Budapest, a two-day event dedicated to the achievements within the Horizon Europe program. Initiatives such as Cassini, Galileo, EGNOS, Copernicus, GOVSATCOM and IRIS2 will be showcased and analyzed regarding their contributions to European economic and social development.

SUSTAINABILITY

Friday, November 22: In Baku, Azerbaijan, the final round of negotiations will take place for COP29, the annual meeting of governments signatory to the 2015 Paris Agreement, with a delegation from the European Parliament also participating.

HEALTH

Wednesday, November 20: A hearing on public health challenges related to the well-being of children and young people will be held in the European Parliament’s sub-committee on public health (SANT).

OTHER EVENTS

Monday, November 18: European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen will participate in the G20 in Rio de Janeiro with the heads of state from the 19 largest economies worldwide and the African Union, which has been a regular guest at EU summits since 2023.

From Monday, November 18 to Wednesday, November 20: The European Assembly of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will be held in Budapest. Organized in cooperation with the European Commission, the event will gather over 570 participants and will cover various topics, including increasing European competitiveness and the role of technological innovation in business growth.
