The first week of the March is marked by the extraordinary European Council meeting on 6 March on European defense and the situation in Ukraine, and by the presentation of the Action Plan for the Automotive Industry by President Ursula Von Der Leyen and the Union of Skills Strategy by Executive Vice President Roxana Mînzatu.

Tuesday, 4 March – Wednesday, 5 March: Under the Polish Presidency, an informal meeting of the Telecommunications Ministers from the 27 Member States will be held in Warsaw. The discussion will focus on the current cybersecurity challenges in the EU, with a focus on response to incidents and large-scale crises, strengthening crisis preparedness in cybersecurity, and the key messages for the review of the Cyber Blueprint.
Wednesday, 5 March: Executive Vice President Roxana Mînzatu will present the Union of Skills Strategy. The document will focus on adult learning and lifelong learning, vocational education and training.

Wednesday, 5 March: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will present the Action Plan for the Automotive Industry. The plan will address key issues for the sector, including access to talent and resources, technological innovation, the development of next-generation vehicles, and a predictable and pragmatic regulatory framework.
Thursday, 6 March: The European Commission’s Environment, Climate and Food Safety Committee (ENVI) will discuss the amendment of Directive 2008/98/EC on waste, with rapporteur Anna Zalewska (ECR).
On the same day, the Special Report 20/2024 will be presented by Nikolaos Milionis (European Court of Auditors’ rapporteur member) on the Common Agricultural Policy Plans, highlighting how they are “greener but not up to the EU’s climate and environmental ambitions.”
