Digital, sustainability and health. The Brussels’ weekly agenda in a nutshell

As the European Parliament enters a “green week”, MEPs will be working in their constituencies, leading to reduced parliamentary activity in Brussels. Attention will therefore shift mainly to the Council, with two key meetings focusing respectively on agriculture and competitiveness.

Monday 30 March. The Agriculture and Fisheries Council will meet to discuss the state of implementation of the “Vision for agriculture and food” one year after its adoption, alongside trade-related agricultural issues and the energy transition in the EU fisheries and aquaculture sectors.

Tuesday 31 March. An informal meeting of the Competitiveness Council (Research) is scheduled, with research ministers from the 27 Member States joining by videoconference. The discussion will focus on how to translate Europe’s research excellence into scalable innovation and global competitiveness (“From Research Excellence to Global Scale: Unlocking Europe’s Innovation Potential”).
