Here we are, the GTIPA Annual Summit takes place on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October. The Global Trade & Innovation Policy Alliance (GTIPA) is an international network of 25 think tanks from all over the world – including the Institute for Competitiveness (I-Com) – specialising in innovation and digital policy issues. The organization was created on the initiative of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), a Washington think tank founded and led by former US President Barack Obama‘s advisor Robert Atkinson.
A two-day event, this year in virtual mode, which aims to encourage a discussion on two issues in particular: on the one hand, international trade, and on the other hand, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on public health and the world economy. The summit also aims to explore possible solutions to the post-pandemic challenges that will be faced by the entire international community.
Following the opening by the ITIF President, Atkinson, and Vice-President, Stephan Ezell, the speakers will include the Chairman of the Korean Committee on Health and Welfare of the Korean National Assembly, Min-seok Kim, and the Undersecretary for North America of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jesus Seade.
The summit will offer the occasion to present three papers, prepared with the contribution of the Institute for Competitiveness (I-Com):
The Importance of E-commerce, Digital Trade, and Maintaining the WTO E-commerce Customs Duty Moratorium, with the contribution of the I-Com President Stefano da Empoli, and our researcher, Michele Masulli (from page 51 to page 55).
