Policy Breakfast | Aligning Priorities: Advancing Real Digital Simplification in the EU



On Wednesday, 24 June, I-Com hosted the policy breakfast “Aligning Priorities: Advancing Real Digital Simplification in the EU” at the MEPs’ Salon of the European Parliament. The event brought together Members of the European Parliament, industry representatives and policymakers to discuss how to advance a more effective digital simplification agenda in the EU.

The discussion took place against the backdrop of the growing momentum for stronger Italian-German cooperation in promoting a new regulatory approach for Europe.

The event was opened by MEP Stefano Cavedagna, Vice-Chair of the European Democracy Shield Committee, followed by introductory remarks from Stefano da Empoli, President of I-Com.

The panel discussion featured Marta Przywała, Director of EU Government Affairs at SAP; Paolo Silvestri, EU Digital Policy Adviser at Confindustria; MEP Francesco Torselli, member of the INTA Committee; and MEP Diego Solier, member of the ITRE Committee. The debate focused on the main regulatory challenges affecting the EU digital ecosystem, highlighting the need for a more coherent, innovation-friendly and competitiveness-oriented regulatory framework.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, providing participants with the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers on the future of the EU’s digital simplification agenda.
